Celebration Assembly Thursday 28th March
Gastro
Dear Parents/ Carers,
We are seeing an increase in gastro in our school.
Please keep your child home if they are unwell.
If your child has any signs of gastro (vomiting and/or diarrhoea) they are not permitted to return to school until 48 hours after the last vomit or bowel motion.
It is only by everyone adhering to this rule that we can try to minimise the spread of gastro at our school.
If your child becomes ill at school we will ring you and would appreciate someone coming promptly to collect them.
Thank you for
your support.

Athletics Carnival Wednesday 6th
Bothwell District High Athletics Carnival
Dear Families/ Carers,
Our K-10 Athletics Carnival will be held this Wednesday 6th March from 11.30am for primary to high school and from 12.45 for Kinder/ Prep.
The event will be held on our front oval.
We encourage students to wear their House Colours. As it is predicted to be a warm day, we ask all students to wear a hat, apply sunscreen and hydrate during the day. Students should also bring along a cut lunch and snacks for the day.
Sunscreen and water will be provided at our ‘Carnival Hydration Station’ and students can refill drink bottles during the day.
We look forward to seeing our families in attendance. All are welcome to come along and cheer our students.
Social Media Message
Dear Parents/ Carers,
Social Media Use and Issues Coming into the School
We are aware that many of our students engage in social media on a day to day basis. As part of Department for Education, Children and Young People (DECYP) policy, phones cannot be used between first bell and last bell and social media is blocked on our school computers.
Recently, we have been dealing with a number of concerns presented to us by students stemming from social media use outside of school time. We are concerned that issues arising outside of school are making their way into the school.
We ask that families please have conversations with your young person regarding social media use and appropriate online behaviour. We encourage our families to monitor student online behaviour and to report any incidences of inappropriate use to the eSafety Commissioner.
We are including a link to the eSafety Commissioner website where there are resources for parents https://www.esafety.gov.au/.
We regularly speak with students about responsible online behaviour and discourage them from participating in group chats. We are looking to run some education programs to help support your young person to navigate social media.
