Principal's Report

Farewell Miss Anna Knowles
Today marks the last day for Miss Anna Knowles at Bothwell District High School. As mentioned previously Anna has won an Acting Advanced Skills Teacher role at Springfield Gardens Primary School for the remainder of the year. Thank to Anna for her commitment to the school the past 6 years and we wish you all the best in your new role. You will be missed.
School Association
A big thank you to the School Association for your ongoing support and for organising the recent Easter Raffle and ‘Guess the eggs in the jar’. These were both fundraisers for our senior student’s celebration activity/dinner towards the end of the year. Seeing the huge jar of eggs sitting in the office window each time I passed was a terrible torment these last couple of weeks. The lucky winner was Darren Brady. A special thank you to Kristy Mayne and Katrina Brazendale who assisted in the assembly with the drawing of the prizes.
Principal role beyond term 1
I am very pleased to notify the community that my contract has been extended and I will continue as Acting Principal at Bothwell in Term 2. I look forward to working with you all.
Easter break and thank you
In closing, on behalf of all of the staff I would like to wish our students, families and community a happy and safe Easter Break. On a personal note I would like to thank my incredible staff who work so hard to ensure our students have the best possible environment to learn in.
Until next term

Art Classes with Mr Gracia.
We have had a busy few weeks in the art department at Bothwell. The kinder/prep students have been practicing their scissor skills by making houses and rocket ships. Class One spent Harmony week making a group colouring in. Class Three looked into the tradition of Henna and then we drew our own style of Henna. Class Two has been looking at humans and our relationship with the environment. During our 2D options class, Mason and Jai have been doing dry point etchings of different insects. This week, Class One worked together to create a Kandinsky inspired concentric circle artwork.

School Association News
The school association met on the 17th March 2021. It was great to have the new committee together (minus a couple of people). We discussed how the school is progressing against the strategic plan, achievements over the term, staff changes, options for Easter celebrations and the Mother’s Day stall. We also starting planning our second quiz night!
This year we have something different planned for Mother’s Day. The children will be involved and it’s a way to thank all the mums or significant female role models who do so much to support the students.
Thank you to everyone who supported out ‘guess the number of eggs’. This fundraiser was put together by Fiona Ellis - thanks Fi!
At the end of this term we farewell Anna Knowles from the Bothwell school community. Thank you Anna for your time at Bothwell and the support of the school association. Your contributions have been greatly appreciated. We wish you well, please keep in touch.
Our next meeting is on Wednesday 28th April, 5.30pm. We would like to see you there. Please contact a member of the committee if you are unable to attend but would like to raise a matter.
Kind Regards,
Annie Ramsay, Chairperson 0408122218
